A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: German Air Force (GAF) reports on Libyan operations for December 28; of an Allied attack on a tanker located in Bizerta, on December 28; a situation report for December 28 from the GAF reports Allied locations in Chad; of an Italian request that a battalion be withdrawn; Rommel reports that every man and every weapon is required in defending the Buerat position, on December 26; of GAF intentions in Tunisia for December 28 and 29; of damage to the Sousse-Sfax railway dealt by Allied forces, on December 28; that Gabes was proposed as an advanced landing ground for heavy fighters, on December 28; and that the orders of the GAF in Tunis for December 29 include that three fighter groups are to move to Kairouan, from December 28; on the Mediterranean: that a supply ship, the Grant, was ready to set sail from Naples on December 25; and that the Grant was sunk en route to Tunisia, on December 28; on the Russian Front: that Goering orders the strengthening of anti-aircraft and anti-tank defences in the area of the 4th Flak Division and the Army Group Don, on December 28; and from the Belgian Legation in Ankara, describing renewed anti-Jewish hostility in Turkey, on December 3.
