Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: on Rommel's inability to support the isolated garrison of Bu Ngem in the event of an attack, owing to a fuel shortage, on December 22; that the Panzer Army under Rommel's shortage of fuel is still hindering German Air Force (GAF) support; a GAF report on Libyan operations on December 27, including that the British are now nearing Tamet; the GAF reports a low-level attack on Gafsa by German aircraft from Gabes; and that three troop-carrying destroyers are due in Tunis on December 28; on the Mediterranean: Kesselring reports Allied naval movements for December 26; and on indications of the move of a GAF unit with torpedo-carrying aircraft to southern France, on December 27.
