This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a German Air Force (GAF) report for December 22, confirming that there were no further Allied advances; a report of an air raid on Hon airfield, on December 22; the German secret service report the Allied eastern Mediterranean fleet's intention to attack near Hammamet on December 22; that heavy Allied traffic was observed moving east in the Medjez El Bab area; that a strong Allied thrust was repulsed north of Dj Bou Hadjar; that Italian forces were pushed back north of Pichon; that the GAF were warned about a possible Allied naval operation in the new moon period; that the Italian Admiralty consider it necessary to send destroyers with troops to Tunis because of the unloading conditions there, on December 21; and GAF reports on Allied aircraft being sighted on December 22; on the Mediterranean: a sea survey for December 21; that Allied shipping was observed; and that over-flying large towns in Italy including Rome has been forbidden.
