A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following report: Naval Headlines, covering arrangements for Mediterranean convoys; this file also includes the following correspondence: from the Japanese minister in Madrid, giving information from the Italian ambassador on a Spanish request for equipment from the Italian and German governments; and relaying rumours about the retirement of the Portuguese President, on December 17; a report of the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs' visit to Portugal, on December 17; and from the Japanese chargé in Rome, on Ciano's visit to Hitler, on December 19.
