Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of Rommel's appeal to Kesselring for greater efforts to provide fuel by air and submarine, since the situation is critical, on December 14; a German Air Force (GAF) report for December 18, noting that bombing operations against the Allies were prevented by the unserviceable airfield at Tamet; on Tunisia: of instructions for a whispering campaign among French troops against Darlan, Giraud, De Gaulle, Nogues and other 'rebel' military leaders, on December 16; Naval Headlines, covering a slow tanker carrying petrol and awaiting escort from Bizerta to Tunis and Tripoli, on December 17; and that the destroyers Ascari and Corazziere disembarked German troops at Bizerta, on December 18.
