This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of Rommel's appeal to Kesselring for greater efforts to provide fuel by air and submarine, since the situation is critical, on December 14; a German Air Force (GAF) report for December 18, noting that bombing operations against the Allies were prevented by the unserviceable airfield at Tamet; on Tunisia: of instructions for a whispering campaign among French troops against Darlan, Giraud, De Gaulle, Nogues and other 'rebel' military leaders, on December 16; Naval Headlines, covering a slow tanker carrying petrol and awaiting escort from Bizerta to Tunis and Tripoli, on December 17; and that the destroyers Ascari and Corazziere disembarked German troops at Bizerta, on December 18.
