This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that Rommel refutes Kesselring's allegations of the misuse of fuel, on December 16; a Panzer Army report for December 16, noting that an Allied attempt to cut off the Africa Corps' line of retreat was defeated; detailing heavy Allied air raids on Tripoli harbour and Castel Benito airfield; and giving confirmation of the identity of Allied formations; and a German intelligence report on U.S. and Algerian forces in Gafsa, on December 17.
