Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Tunisia: that there have been no major operations; and of anticipation of an Allied attack towards Gabes or Sfax, on December 16; a German naval summary for December 16, covering Norway, the North Sea, the English Channel, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean; that an Allied convoy successfully arrived at Malta; that the Italian tanker San Antioco and the steamship Delfino were sunk by Allied submarines; and arrivals in Tunis and Italian ports; from the Portuguese ambassador in London, relating U.K. and Soviet attitudes towards Darlan, on December 14; and Naval Headlines, covering the Leutzow being due to leave Narvik, on December 17, its destination unknown; and that steamships in Bordeaux were heavily damaged in an Allied sabotage raid.
