This file includes the following reports on Tunisia: that there have been no major operations; and of anticipation of an Allied attack towards Gabes or Sfax, on December 16; a German naval summary for December 16, covering Norway, the North Sea, the English Channel, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean; that an Allied convoy successfully arrived at Malta; that the Italian tanker San Antioco and the steamship Delfino were sunk by Allied submarines; and arrivals in Tunis and Italian ports; from the Portuguese ambassador in London, relating U.K. and Soviet attitudes towards Darlan, on December 14; and Naval Headlines, covering the Leutzow being due to leave Narvik, on December 17, its destination unknown; and that steamships in Bordeaux were heavily damaged in an Allied sabotage raid.
