Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of the Panzer Army's tank, vehicle and weapon strength as at December 14; that Kesselring's staff instruct the 5th Panzer Army to take the initiative in southern as well as northern Tunisia, on December 13; that Allied raids caused damage in Tunis harbour and Sfax, on December 15; a 5th Panzer Army report for December 13, noting enemy air attacks; of the dispositions of the German 20th Flak Division at Bizerta, on December 14; a Panzer Army report for December 14, covering heavy fighting by the rearguard holding the Allied attack, and that withdrawals are planned, but the fuel situation is serious; and on the Southern Russian Front: an evening report for December 14, stating that the Germans are fighting heavy defensive battles.
