Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a German secret service report on Tunisia for December 10, detailing that Jews were sent to build defensive positions; of intelligence on Allied shipping to North Africa; a German naval report for November 11; that Kesselring urges reconnaissance to the south to protect the Panzer Army's flank, on December 11; that Panzer Army formations are moving west, on December 9; the German Air Force (GAF) report that sixteen aircraft are serviceable and request reinforcement, on December 11; and the GAF at Castel Benito report fuel and oil shortages, on December 11; and on France: that the Germans are to hand over Toulon to the Italian 4th Army, on December 9.
