Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that Rommel complains to Kesselring that the lack of fuel is preventing any offensive action and similarly affecting the German Air Force (GAF), on December 12; a Panzer Army report for December 7, noting a strong enemy build-up, and that the Germans intend to hold Mersa el Brega and make a fighting withdrawal; that the Panzer Army was informed of supply shipping making for Sousse, on December 7; of a GAF complaint that the aviation fuel situation at Castel Benito is intolerable, on December 6; Gause reports on the Tunisian situation, and that the French Admiral Derrien is cooperating loyally, on December 8; that Nehring orders the disarming of all French forces, as of December 8; a German battle group in Tunisia's report for December 7; a GAF Africa report on supply movements, on December 8; the German 90th Corps' appreciation of the situation in Tunisia, on December 6; the XC Army Corps' report for December 7; and reports from a British agent in Tunisia, on December 8 (an extract); on the Southern Russian Front: of information passed to the Soviets about an airfield being used by the GAF to supply the 6th Army; with a reply from the U.K. Military Mission in Moscow that the Soviets attacked and found 110 Ju aircraft there.
