Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of a German attack on the Allies near Tebourba on December 1; that the German Air Force (GAF) are to clear up the Tebourba pocket by the morning of December 4; that the Allies are attempting to break out to the south through the Axis defence west of Tunis, on December 3; Kesselring reports that heavier air attacks on Medjez el Bab are necessary, on December 3; Kesselring decides that a concentrated bombing attack followed by a ground attack on Tebourba is expected for December 3; that the GAF are to provide fighter protection for Tripoli harbour, on December 3; on North Africa: that the Panzer Army is again seriously short of fuel, and it is expected that stocks will be exhausted by the evening of December 5; a report of December 2 from the Panzer Army; that the GAF are to attack British artillery as their main task on December 4; that fighting personnel of 164 divisions and the brigade Ramcke are to be transferred immediately from Tripoli to the Buerat area, on December 4; and on the Mediterranean: the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) in Chief South reports on the naval situation, as of December 3.
