Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that Rommel is to return from Rome on December 2; Naval Headlines, covering that the Nuernberg is to move northwards on November 29, and orders for attacks on independent steamships to U-boats operating in northern waters; that Japan lists its requirements for steel and aluminium from Germany, on November 20; from the Japanese ambassador in Vichy, that Laval regrets the inability to preserve the French fleet at Toulon and hopes for the Axis' ultimate success; and a report on the effect on the French people of the German occupation of Toulon and the scuttling of the French Fleet, on November 28; and from the Turkish minister in Madrid, on mediation by Spain, Portugal and Argentina, on November 28.
