Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of Kesselring's appreciation of the Tunisian situation on November 28; a very detailed report for November 28, including that fuel supplies must be brought from Tripoli by November 30 to avoid another fuel crisis, and that a large-scale Allied attack is expected on or about November 30; of little Allied activity transpiring; of Rommel's visit to Germany and Italy on November 28/29; that Rommel travelled to Rome early on November 28 stating that he felt honour-bound to personally inform Hitler and the Commander in Chief (C-in-C) of the German armed forces of the current situation within the Panzer Army and of its supply problems; that he would leave North Africa early on November 28 and return in 2 or 3 days' time; and that he was not expecting a strong Allied attack; and that Kesselring is to receive a visiting military VIP, possibly Goering, on the afternoon of November 30.
