Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that Rommel lands in Vienna, probably en route to Berlin, on November 28, and is expected in Rome late on November 29; that the Italians propose not to negotiate with the U.K. on the evacuation of British national non-combatants from Libya, on November 28; on November 28 that the Panzer Army urgently required a shipment of fuel to arrive in Tripoli by November 30 and also a shipment of 7.5cm anti-tank guns; a general intelligence report for North Africa and France, for November 28; that on November 27 Kesselring orders the extension and holding of the Tunisian bridgehead south of Mateur; and of a successful Allied attack on a German fighter airfield, on November 28; Naval Headlines; on North Africa: that a supply convoy of four steamships with escorts is to leave Naples for Bizerta on November 29; and a query from the Prime Minister (PM) to the First Sea Lord (ISL) on how the U.K. can destroy the convoy.
