Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: an Axis report on the situation in Bizerta harbour on November 21; that Rome orders daily reports on supplies from Panzer Army depots; and that Rommel sends De Stafani to report to Cavallero and Mussolini on the situation of the Panzer Army, on November 20; on the Southern Russian Front: that the German Air Force (GAF) orders its personnel in the Don sector to hold their positions until the last cartridge, on November 21; and of GAF orders for November 22, including support for German defensive measures; and on the Mediterranean: of German intelligence on the general situation, from November 19.
