A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that German Air Force (GAF) signals units are to take over the broadcasting and communications facilities in Tunis, on November 12; that Benghazi asks for an expected ship to be sent to Ras Aali, on November 13; from the German secret service in Vichy, that the Italian occupation of Savoy has led to a crisis in the French government, on November 13; from the Japanese minister in Madrid, that Spain is preparing for a reduction of service personnel in Gibraltar, on November 10; from the Japanese chargé in Madrid, on secret envoys from Ribbentrop to arrive to see Franco on November 11; from the Portuguese minister in Berlin, on French, German and Spanish attitudes to the Allied landings in North Africa, on November 10; from the Argentinian minister in Berne, on anticipation of an Allied attack on Italy, on November 10; from the Turkish ambassador in Vichy, on indications of a German take-over, on November 11; from the Turkish military attaché in Rome, that Hitler met with the Italian Chiefs of Staff (COS) and Foreign Minister to obtain troops for Tunisia, on November 12; from the Japanese Foreign Minister, an order that ambassadors in Berlin and Rome are to seek German and Italian assurances following the U.S. occupation of North Africa, on November 11; from the Turkish minister in Madrid, noting German assurances to Spain on November 11; and Naval Headlines, covering Mediterranean shipping.
