Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of the Panzer Army's extreme shortage of fuel, and that the highest priority is to be given to flying it in, on November 10; that the Fuehrer and Il Duce order Rommel to gain time for the evacuation of Cyrenaica and to ensure that the Italians are not left behind, on November 10; that Cavallero sent a message to Rommel on November 10; that the Italian Navy expects Tobruk to fall on November 12; the German Air Force (GAF) report the withdrawal of the Panzer Army to the east of El Adam-Tobruk, with the GAF protecting the roads; of GAF attacks on an Allied landing at Bougie, on November 11; a report to the GAF Air Officer Commanding (AOC) in Chief South of the situation in Tunis, for November 11, noting that the French are being unfriendly to the Italians; and Naval Headlines, covering Axis shipping to Bizerta.
