This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of a shortage of aviation fuel at Tobruk on November 7, with only one day's supply remaining, and of a request for supplies from Europe; that all stocks of aviation fuel at Maleme were exhausted by the morning of November 8; on the preparation of mining and obstruction materials in the Capuzzo area, on November 7; that the Germans are in defensive operations east of Sidi Barrani, on November 8; that the Panzer Army is in retreat with extreme shortages of fuel and water, on November 6; a report from the French Naval Command at Oran for November 8, describing considerable losses to the Allies; that the French Naval Command at Casablanca orders all convoys from Dakar to Casablanca to be suspended; that late on November 8 French naval authorities were aware that a rising in Morocco had been suppressed and Allied landings at Safi and Fedhala had been heavily counter-attacked; that the Panzer Army was informed that the Allies were planning a landing on Rhodes and the Aegean Islands, on October 31; a CX report on Tangier for November 8; and a CX report on Tunis for November 8.
