Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that a new German Air Force (GAF) battle group HQ is to be formed in Tunis on November 9; on details of the Panzer Army's supply situation as of November 10; that the army continues to retreat, with the situation very serious, and with priority being given to evacuation of the wounded; of military replacement supplies being shipped to Benghazi; that the anchorage at Buerat is to be used for discharging cargo; that the Axis garrison at Tobruk was ordered by Rommel to defend it to the last, on November 9; and that some supplies and reinforcements are leaving Benghazi for Tobruk on November 9.
