Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: on the results of Allied air attacks against German Air Force (GAF) bases in Sardinia on the night of November 8/9; that a GAF battle HQ will be set up in Tunis by late on November 9; of the GAF 2nd Air Corps' plans for November 10; that British armoured cars are approaching Mechili on November 9; that the German Cyrenaica command orders a state of emergency; a CX report on Tangier for November 9 (an extract); and from the German representative in Lisbon, that a U.S. Embassy source indicates that Allied troop landings are imminent in Tunisia, on November 9.
