A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that three German Air Force (GAF) units are to re-locate, probably to Tunis, on November 9; of plans for GAF attacks against an Allied convoy on November 8; that French North Africa is to be regarded as an [Axis] ally and no GAF attacks are permitted on the mainland or on ships in the harbour; that Nogues takes over command of the Oran area with his HQ at Oujda to act as the liaison between Oran, Casablanca and parts of Algeria still in French hands, on November 9; and on the GAF results of attacks against British shipping, on November 9; from the German representative in Vichy, that the German Supreme Command enquire about the possibility of German military support in North Africa; and reports sent to Berlin on the movements of various VIPs in France.
