A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of heavy fighting in the Fuka area, with casualties high, the Germans and Italians being reduced to small battle groups, and the Fuka position no longer being tenable, on November 5; on the Mediterranean: that aircraft to be used against an Allied convoy are to return to Sicily after the attack; and on the fuel situation on Crete; Naval Headlines, covering a German naval formation including the Admiral Hipper being in Alta Fjord on November 5, to operate in the northern waters; that the Admiral Scheer is at sea in the Trondheim area; that two further Allied convoys entered the Mediterranean on November 6; and from the Japanese ambassador in Ankara, on a severe food shortage in Russia, from October 27.
