This file includes the following reports on North Africa: on the establishment of a new air base at Tobruk on November 6; of the priority list for targets in an Allied convoy on November 7; of an enquiry as to the capacity of Tobruk harbour to land heavy tanks, on November 4; that 500 small craft were reported 25 km north of Mersa Matruh, on November 6; a German naval assessment of the position of the Gibraltar convoy; that shipping to Tobruk and the transfer of personnel and stores from Italy to Benghazi are suspended as of November 7; and a German naval assessment that the concentration of Allied forces in Palestine, Syria and Cyprus is related to the offensive in Egypt, on November 6.
