Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: from the Chinese minister in Cairo, that Dakar is preparing to resist an Allied land attack, on November 3; Naval Headlines, covering three U-boats being deployed to new attack areas north of Iceland; that the Italian Admiral Biancheri has been appointed senior naval officer (SNO) of a convoy operation in the waters west of Malta employing special experimental methods; that the Italians are noting an Allied naval force in the Cyprus area considering the possibility of an attack on the Aegean Islands; and that Kesselring has been informed of the arrival in Gibraltar of an Allied aircraft carrier and that all steps had been taken: this was queried by the Prime Minister (PM) with a response from the First Sea Lord (ISL).
