This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that Axis shipping arrives in Tobruk on November 3; German Air Force (GAF) reports for November 3; that Axis hospital ships are leaving Matruh, on November 3; that the fieldmarshal orders continuous GAF protection for Tobruk harbour, on November 3; the GAF report the withdrawal of Panzer Army infantry, on November 3; that British attacks were repelled despite heavy losses from the RAF; and a GAF report for the afternoon of November 3, that the Panzer Army is grouping for defensive action; on the Mediterranean: that the GAF on the Russian Front are to detach all Ju88 C6s with crews to the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) in Chief South, on November 3; that GAF aircraft are leaving Foggia on November 3; that Ju88 C6s are flying to Eleusis for convoy escort duties, on November 3; and that the GAF fieldmarshall has been allotted additional fighter aircraft, and the Fuehrer agrees that army units are to be flown to Africa from Crete, on November 3.
