Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following correspondence: J1624/T28 was sent to the Director of Naval Intelligence (DNI) (see 1283). This file also includes the following reports on the Mediterranean: that two German Air Force (GAF) anti-shipping units are transferring from Norway on November 2; on North Africa: that GAF Tobruk has aviation fuel only for November 3; that Kesselring is due in Africa on November 4; and that Hitler urges Rommel to victory or death, on November 3; on Crete: GAF reports for November 3, noting a shortage of aviation fuel; and on the arrival of military reinforcements, on October 31; from the Japanese minister in Madrid, on the Spanish internal situation and views on the war, as of October 28; and from the Turkish minister in Madrid, giving the situation in Finland, Denmark and Sweden, on October 30.
