A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that the Italians are hunting for British light forces on October 29 in the El Adem area; a German Air Force (GAF) report of British naval shelling of the coast near Qasaba late on October 28; that a GAF transport airlift to North Africa using Tobruk and El Adem continues, on October 28; and that the GAF are to provide additional transport aircraft support following the loss of a supply convoy, on October 29; Naval Headlines; on North Africa: that the Panzer Army is in danger of being overwhelmed and the situation is grave; that Kesselring promises measures to reinforce the GAF in North Africa, on October 28; a GAF summary of convoy escort duties on October 27; that the Panzer Army is desperate for fuel and submitted a request for additional anti-aircraft artillery as all available units are being used in an anti-tank role, on October 28; from the German representative in Lisbon, on the Allied build up for an attack against Tangier, on October 22; on North Africa: that Axis convoys are to stop employing protective balloons, from October 29; of heavy losses and a shortage of ammunition for the Panzer Army; that all vehicles are to be sent to Benghazi to move supplies to the front, on October 28; that GAF transport aircraft are to fly around the clock to move fuel; that Allied troop landings are expected behind Axis lines, on October 25; and that anti-aircraft gun replacements are expected to arrive by sea, on October 28.
