This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a German Air Force (GAF) summary of operations of October 26, including an Allied attack in the area west of Alamein; and that all Me109 fighters, including those kept for the defence of Tobruk, are being sent to Harun, west of Fuka; Naval Headlines, covering the Proserpina's total loss, and that the Tergestea was blown up in a torpedo attack; on North Africa: a GAF operational report; of air protection for a Luisiana convoy leaving Navarino on October 28 for Benghazi; that the Italian destroyers Geniere, Aviere and Legionario are to leave Taranto carrying fuel for Tobruk, on October 30; that air transport is available to carry anti-tank weapons and ammunition for North Africa from Italy and Greece on October 26; that the cargoes for the Emilio Morandi, Algerino and Tripolino are carrying rations, fuel, equipment and ammunition for the GAF and Army; and of Allied infantry attacks supported by armour penetrating near Deir El Munassib, while an attack near Deir El Anqar was repulsed; on the Mediterranean: that all U-boats are ordered by Hitler to attack convoys from October 25; that Kesselring orders the GAF to prepare for expected Allied attempts at sea-, or air-borne landings, on October 27; that orders to meet the Panzer Army's fuel shortages have been rendered dangerous by the sinkings of tankers and supply vessels; that the GAF in Africa have been reinforced by fighter and fighter-bomber aircraft, on October 27; on the Panzer Army's orders for assembly in preparation for a possible counter attack on October 26; and that a counter attack supported by Stuka and fighter-bombers was reported to be successful on October 27.
