Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on the Mediterranean: of transfers of personnel as platoon commanders of new German field divisions, on October 21; on North Africa: that German troops have asked for RAF pilots to be shot as a reprisal for an RAF attack on a field hospital, on October 22; that Kesselring states that fighter aircraft cannot be replaced and requires steps to reduce their losses, on October 22; of an objection to the poor state of aircraft operational readiness, and that the GAF are to report the spares needed and the technical measures to be taken, on October 22; that von Pohl, who is in charge of supplies, is to visit Africa on October 26; and a GAF evening report for October 22, stating that the situation is quiet.
