Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that German Air Force (GAF) Africa blame heavy RAF attacks on the lack of aircraft serviceability and other technical faults; the GAF report for the Italian Air Force great losses and a lack of engines and fuel, on October 22; on North Africa: that Kesselring wishes to know why attacks on British aerodromes are not being carried out, on October 22; that the GAF were instructed to investigate tracks leading to Kufra from the south, on October 22; that the GAF need to reinforce the anti-aircraft (AA) defence at Maleme on October 22; a GAF report on the morning of October 22, of a successful RAF raid on Maleme; and that because of the fuel shortage, the Panzer Army is placing priority on the air transport of fuel, on October 21.
