Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on the Russian fronts: a German ground forces report for October 13; on the Southern Russian Front: of the German Air Force (GAF) and Roumanian Air Force orders for October 15, including providing support for an assault on Stalingrad; and a German ground forces report for October 14; on North Africa: that considerable reinforcements are being prepared for Rommel, on October 12, with a query from the Prime Minister (PM) to the Chief of the Imperial General Staff (CIGS); on the GAF's redistribution of aircraft units for a period of bad weather, with a query from the PM to the CIGS; the CIGS's reply was returned to the Director of Military Intelligence (DMI) under 1083.
