A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that an Allied offensive is believed to be imminent, with problems anticipated because of the shortage of fuel and ammunition, on October 10; Naval Headlines, covering the Italian 84th Naval Group being formed at Suda; the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs repeats a signal from Chile reporting a peace initiative plan by Argentina, Chile, Spain and Portugal, on October 7; and the Turkish chargé in Stockholm repeats a report from the Swedish military attaché who recently returned from Kuibyshev, on Soviet troops and supplies, on October 7.
