A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on Crete: of Italian military reinforcements on September 26; on Yugoslavia: of Hitler's decisions on reinforcements for Croatia, on September 26; from the Italian ambassador in [Shanghai], giving German information on Japanese intentions towards the Soviet Union, on September 24; from the Japanese minister in Sofia, relating German views on a possible anti-Stalin coup d'etat, on September 22; from the Japanese minister in Madrid, on Allied efforts to estrange Japan from Germany, on September 23; from the Portuguese minister in Tokyo, forwarding Turkish information on a U.S. party accord on not ceding occupied territory to the U.K. nor to the Soviet Union, on September 26; and from the Chilean ambassador in Berlin, stating German views on the campaign in the Soviet Union, as of September 26.
