Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: the German Air Force (GAF) report that a British landing force was annihilated as a result of increased readiness because of early air attacks, on September 14; a Panzer Army day report for September 12, describing the heavy superiority of the British artillery; Naval Headlines, covering attacks on Arctic convoys according to a new German format by area, and the British landing at Tobruk; from the Japanese minister in Budapest, of an air raid on Budapest on September 4; from the Turkish Foreign Ministry in Ankara to all posts, on the visit of a U.S. special envoy to Turkey, and U.S. assurances, on September 12; and from the Turkish ambassador in London, on the loss of prestige of Sir Stafford Cripps, on September 12.
