A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on the Mediterranean: of Mussolini's views on the supply of North Africa and on the placing together of German and Italian motorised troops; Naval Headlines; the Saudi Arabian minister in London reports on the progress of the war; the Italian ambassador in Tokyo reports on Togo and east Asia, on September 2; the Japanese ambassador in Vichy reports that Germany is to use Norwegian shipping in French ports, from September 6; and the Portuguese consul in Pernambuco reports rumours of an Allied expedition against Dakar, on September 5.
