A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of a query on the German Air Force's (GAF's) fuel situation, whether there is enough to last until September 5 or 12?; that GAF bombers are to transport fuel to Tobruk on September 2; that the Rommel considers the advance too slow, as of August 31; that the 15th Panzer Division is on the defensive, on September 2; a GAF report and their intentions for September 2; an Italian ground forces report for August 31; and that General Nehring has been severely wounded, on August 31; and on the Mediterranean: of GAF/Italian Air Force arrangements for convoy escorts, on September 2; and of a successful RAF attack on Axis tankers, on September 1-2.
