Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that an Axis div is to move up through minefields during the evening of August 30; a Panzer Army day report for August 28 including present and future fuel and ammunition requirements and the possibility of a serious supply crisis; a detailed statement of the Axis transport situation in the Mediterranean Sea and prospective difficulties, on August 29; and of contingency plans by the German Air Force (GAF) to combat the attempted relief of Malta by a large Allied convoy on August 30; and messages from the Portuguese minister in Tokyo about Japanese reinforcements in Manchuria; and that the Soviet ambassador was assured that Japan will not attack Russia, on August 28.
