Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that a special operation by the Panzer Army has been postponed by a delay in the arrival of fuel and ammunition, on August 27; that an Axis supply ship was sunk on August 27; that Rommel was able to resume command of the Panzer Army by August 26 but with a doctor in attendance and subsequent lengthy treatment in Germany will be necessary following the end of combat operations; and a Panzer Army report for August 27; this file also includes a message from the Japanese ambassador in Vichy, on the British landings at Dieppe on August 19 and speculation on future landings on the French coast.
