A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of Kesselring's plans of August 26 for the protection of Mediterranean convoys, with extensive fighter escort activity and the jamming of Allied recce aircraft; that the 164th Infantry Division is desperate for officer replacements on August 24; and of changes in the German Air Force (GAF) High Command, on August 24; on Western Europe: of technical information on the Churchill tank employed at Dieppe, on August 25; on the Russian Front: of a GAF recce of Caucasus and Caspian Sea ports, detailing the possibility of enemy supplies from Iran, on August 24; a general report for August 24, on attacks in the North Caucasus and Stalingrad areas; and a report for August 23, with the Germans claiming to have reached the Volga 4 km from Stalingrad and details of Italian and Romanian successes.
