Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a day report from the Panzer Army for August 20, including a complaint about the supply situation while replacements await transport in Italy, and a summary of the supplies received in Africa between August 1 and 20 together with their rate of consumption; that the Italian 20th Motorised Corps is short of half its transport and has been further depleted to supply transport to the Parachute Division, with a reply from the Italian Supremo Cavallero; that British prisoners taken following a commando raid are to be court-martialled; on North Africa: that the arrival and unloading of a supply ship from Ankara is regarded as of decisive importance on August 21; and the Portuguese minister in Ankara reports that Germany is confident of victory, as of August 22.
