Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that thirty Itailan lighters are to be loaded with German supplies for Africa on August 10; a Panzer Army strength return for August 18; on the arrival of German paratroops in the battle HQ of the Africa Corps; that parachute equipment is being held in store in Tobruk, on August 20; and a German Air Force (GAF) serviceability return for August 21; on the Russian Front: a report for August 19; and Naval Headlines, covering that a berth for the Luetzow in Kiel is to be ready by August 20, and that the Tirpitz has defects in its degaussing equipment as of August 19.
