A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a day report for August 15 including a report of an Allied sabotage attack in the El Daba area, and listing casualties in Panzer Army Africa between May 26 and July 30; Naval Headlines of August 15, covering an operation against convoy PQ18 being broken off on August 14, and that the Nuernberg was en route to Swinemuende on August 14; Naval Headlines of August 16, covering the redistribution of U-boats in the northern waters on August 14, and that the Scharnhorst and Nuernberg are en route to Gdynia on August 16; Naval Headlines of August 17, that the Lerici was abandoned on August 16; the Turkish minister in Stockholm reports rumours relating to Stalin's intentions in the Caucasus, on August 14; and the Japanese minister in Santiago forwards an intelligence assessment of the war situation, as of August 6.
