Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a Panzer Army day report for August 14, covering an Allied recce being repulsed, and Italian airfields being bombed; that the 10th Air Corps is to provide escort for the Lerici which was torpedoed by a submarine and is to return to Navarino, on August 16; and on the Russian Front: of renewed Soviet attacks north east of Rzhev; and that von Knobelsdorf Group is engaged in heavy fighting and requests air support, on August 14.
