This file includes the following reports on North Africa: the Panzer Army's day report for August 6, including an escaped German officer PoW reporting that Allied commandos are north of the Qattara depression, and a list of serviceable Axis tanks; of German intentions for August 6-7; of a 7-day programme for the transport of Italian reinforcements to North Africa from August 8; and that the Panzer Army was informed of an agent's report of an impending Allied attack on Crete, on August 4; on the Russian Front: that the 4th Air Fleet is to support an attack by the 6th Army west of Stalingrad on August 7; and Naval Headlines, covering the Koeln with a destroyer escort being en route for Narvik, on August 5; and a large Allied convoy being reported west of Jan Mayen, on August 6.
