Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports from BONIFACE; the Turkish chargé in Berlin reports an Allied air raid on Hamburg, on August 1; on North Africa: of German Air Force (GAF) fuel shortages in Africa and Crete, on August 2-3; that Rommel requests the GAF concentrate on attacking Allied supply lines and on protecting Axis supplies, on August 3; and that a German night fighter unit is to transfer from Africa to Belgium on August 5-6; on the Russian Front: that the 1st Panzer Army reached the Kuban River in pursuit of retreating Soviet forces, on August 3; and Naval Headlines, covering the outer harbour at Boulogne being boomed; and that the Italian tanker San Andrea was given precedence in loading German aviation fuel and oil in Taranto for Suda, on August 1.
