This file includes the following reports from BONIFACE; the Turkish chargé in Berlin reports an Allied air raid on Hamburg, on August 1; on North Africa: of German Air Force (GAF) fuel shortages in Africa and Crete, on August 2-3; that Rommel requests the GAF concentrate on attacking Allied supply lines and on protecting Axis supplies, on August 3; and that a German night fighter unit is to transfer from Africa to Belgium on August 5-6; on the Russian Front: that the 1st Panzer Army reached the Kuban River in pursuit of retreating Soviet forces, on August 3; and Naval Headlines, covering the outer harbour at Boulogne being boomed; and that the Italian tanker San Andrea was given precedence in loading German aviation fuel and oil in Taranto for Suda, on August 1.
