Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on the Southern Russian Front: of German Air Force (GAF) recce orders for August 1; Naval Headlines, covering German and Italian activity; and activity pertaining to North African supplies; from the Japanese Foreign Minister in Tokyo, that a German ship is to collect a consignment of rubber from Indo-China on July 28; from the Portuguese minister in Ankara on Soviet pressure for a second front and concern at the British failure in Egypt, on July 30; from the Chilean consul in Hamburg, on RAF raids on Hamburg on July 29; and from the Japanese minister in Madrid, urging offensive action against India rather than Australia, on July 28.
