A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a Panzer Army report of British losses on July 22; with a query from the Prime Minister (PM); and the Chief of the Imperial General Staff's (CIGS's) reply; on Panzer Army casualties for July 1-23; with the PM's query and CIGS's reply; from the Japanese ambassador in Istanbul, Turkish intelligence on the collapse of the Red Army and Soviet demands for a second front, on July 24; and from the Japanese minister in Lisbon, German and Portuguese intelligence on Allied activity in west Africa and speculation on a second front.
