Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on the German Navy: a general report for July 21, including information on the bombardment of Tobruk; on North Africa: that the 90th Light Division was attacked by the RAF on July 21; that the 90th Light Division's situation is unchanged on July 21; that the RAF are regularly over the 21st Panzer Division; that the German Navy is seeking a fast turn around of ships in Tobruk to avoid losses, on July 21; and that the RAF bombed the 15 Panzer Division on July 21; on the Mediterranean: that the Germans are prepared to offer a port of refuge if the French fleet leaves Alexandria, on July 20; and on the Southern Russian Front: on the ground situation as of July 21; and on GAF operational orders for July 22.
