Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: Naval Headlines, covering German and Italian activity; and shipping for Tobruk; a German police report for June 23-July 15, that 80 British PoWs are required as 'capos' at Auschwitz concentration camp; and messages from the Turkish military attaché in Kuibyshev on rumours of an impending Japanese attack on the Soviet Union, on July 13; and on the Russian military situation, on July 15; from the Japanese minister in Sofia, on a German admiral's views on the war in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, from July 3; 106914 to the Director of Naval Intelligence (DNI) (see 164); and 106977 to the Director of Military Intelligence (DMI) (see 163).
