Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that the transport of German Air Force (GAF) flak units was held up by the Italians on July 19; on arrangements for the movement of German reinforcements, and German and Italian troops to Crete, on July 18; of German supplies being shipped to Africa, on July 18; a further report on German supplies being shipped to Africa, on July 18; on GAF orders for a move of the 11th Air Corps to Africa, on July 19; that Kesselring was informed that units of the 11th Air Corps were ready for operations, on July 19; on arrangements for a move of German troops to Africa from Greece and Crete, on July 18; of a GAF recce over Suez, on July 19; and on GAF intentions for July 20; on the Mediterranean: that the GAF are to attack aerodromes on Malta, on July 19; on Greece: that the German 22nd Air Landing Division is to be moved to Greece immediately, as of July 18; and on the Russian Front: a German situation report for July 15.
